In 1986, after consulting with their lawyers and careful and meticulous process of adoption, they welcomed their first child Annie. Their second child Thomas came after nine years. It was a sudden decision when he came into their lives, but she describes it as ‘celestial.’ In 1996, Curtis got the inspiration to write a children’s book entitled Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born, which is a story for adopted kids.
