Emma Thompson & Greg Wise | Tindyebwa

Emma Thomspon is a distinguished British actress. Throughout her career, she has garnered widespread acclaim and esteem from both fans and colleagues alike, and her accolades include two Academy Awards, two BAFTAs, two Golden Globes, and an Emmy Award. She began her career as a theater performer and even did comedy sketch shows with the likes of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. In 1995, she wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed film, Sense, and Sensibility, where she also co-starred alongside her future husband, Greg Wise.

In 2003, Greg and Emma informally adopted Tindyebwa Agaba, a former Rwandan child soldier, whom the couple met at a refugee council event. They invited him over for their family Christmas celebration and slowly grew a liking to the 16-year-old refugee. As Emma shared in an interview with the Weekend magazine, Agaba is a remarkable boy who saw enough misery that would last a lifetime, which gives him the drive to influence other people for the better. As such, Emma and Greg made the investments to welcome Agaba into their family.
