BARBARA EDEN


Barbara Eden is a Hollywood actress who skyrocketed to fame for her starring role as Jeannie in the hit sitcom of the 1960s, I Dream of Jeannie, opposite actor Larry Hagman. Around that time, Eden went on to appear in several television shows and films. However, she first graced the silver screen in the mid-1950s, appearing in Back from Eternity. Aside from I Dream of Jeannie, her other television credits include I Love Lucy, Gunsmoke, and Route 66.

Eight years after the success of her hit show, the actress played another popular role in the movie Harper Valley PTA, which was adapted into a television series. You might be curious what Eden is up to these days, but her fans know she hasn’t retired from the show business yet. In fact, she recently appeared in the 2019 movie, My Adventures with Santa.

BOB NEWHART


Bob Newhart earned a degree in business management, but he served in the United States Army in the 1950s. After he left the military, he applied for a job as an accountant and an advertising copywriter for a movie and television producer. Thanks to his friend Dan Sorkin, he was signed under Warner Bros. Records and began his comedy career. Newhart delved into stand-up comedy and performed live at nightclubs as well. He then followed up with seven successful comedy albums throughout the 1960s and went on to release albums into the 21st century.

Newhart definitely won the hearts of viewers everywhere. After proving himself to be an excellent comic, he then transitioned into acting. Over the next few years, he starred in a wide range of movies and television projects and continues to be active in Hollywood to this day.

WILLIAM DANIELS


William Daniels made his dancing debut at age 4. He hit the road at age 15 to become an understudy for the play Life With Father. He then made his first television work in The Hallmark Hall of Fame and found little success during his first few years in Tinseltown. It wasn’t until 1957, when iconic playwright Tennessee Williams selected him to portray Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, that his career started to take off.

Fast forward to many years later, Daniels landed an acting credit as Dr. Mark Craig on the hit show St. Elsewhere. This character won him two Emmy Awards for outstanding lead actor. His wife, Bonnie, also starred as his wife on the show and won an Emmy with him the same night. In recent years, Daniels continues to act on screen and has served as the President of the Screen Actors Guild.

WILLIAM SHATNER


Candian-born actor William Shatner is widely recognized as Captain James T. Kirk in the popular Star Trek franchise. He has also had leading roles in several other hit shows, including the lawyer series The Practice and Boston Legal.

After college, Shatner got a job as a business manager for a playhouse. From there, he joined the theatre to learn classical Shakespearean acting. Starting in 1954, he played several roles at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and was soon cast as Ranger Bob on Howdy Doody Show. He landed a role on the Alfred Hitchcock Presents series, and of course, his big break came when he was cast in Star Trek, which ran from 1966 to 1969. After its cancellation, the show developed a cult following, and the actor and his Captain Kirk character became a cultural icon. Like his peers, Shatner continues to act today.

CATHERINE BACH


Catherine Bach attended UCLA, where she earned a degree in drama. Around this time, she made clothing to supplement her income. In case you don’t know, the actress started her acting career as a young child, starring in productions like The Sound of Music. Another early role of hers is in The Midnight Man opposite Burt Lancaster. Bach quickly followed up with another movie role in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, but her most popular gig is in The Dukes of Hazzard.

At the time, The Dukes of Hazzard television producers were looking for someone who has the resemblance of Dolly Parton, and Bach actually did not fit the bill. However, her audition was so incredible that the producers hired her without hesitation. After the show ended in the 1980s, the actress appeared in other shows and films. She hasn’t retired from the acting industry yet and most recently appeared in the 2016 film My Best Friend.

DUSTIN HOFFMAN


Dustin Hoffman is undeniably one of the most well-known figures in the entertainment scene today. His career has spanned several decades with critical acclaim. After breaking through with a starring role in the 1967 film The Graduate, he continued to appear in many other successful films, winning multiple Oscar Awards in the process. He is also a recipient of six Golden Globe Awards. Outside of acting, Hoffman has made investments as a director with the 2012 movie Quartet.

To the surprise of many, the actor once revealed that he initially wanted to pursue a career in medicine, but he realized that life was not for him. He also considered a career as a classical pianist, but then he joined the Pasadena Playhouse and opted to work as a professional actor. With so many projects and accolades under his belt, Hoffman remains active in the Hollywood industry at present.

CHERYL LADD


Cheryl Ladd started her career in music in the 1970s, singing for the animated television show Josie and the Pussycats. She went on to emerge in commercials and guest appearances on well-known TV shows like the Partridge Family and Happy Days. She then bagged the role of Kris Munroe on the long-running Charlie’s Angels, which helped her land prominence in the show business. In the 2000s, the actress took on Broadway roles, including Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun.

In addition to her Broadway and television appearances, Ladd has also starred in more than 30 made for television movies including, Grace Kelly and Purple Hearts. She is also the creator of a children’s book titled The Adventures of Little Nettie Windship, and her own memoir titled Token Chick. In recent years, she has devoted her investments and time to a non-profit group known as Childhelp.

HARVEY KEITEL


Harvey Keitel worked as a court reporter before embarking on a career in acting. Studying under renowned acting teachers Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg at the HB Studio in Greenwich Village, he soon landed roles in off-Broadway productions. He even had a minor part in Reflection in a Golden Eye by John Huston, though he did not get credit for the role.

Keitel’s breakthrough came in the late 1960s when he won the leading role in Martin Scorsese’s film Who’s That Knocking at My Door. The actor continued collaborating with Scorsese, subsequently appearing in the director’s crime epic Mean Streets, which also starred actor Robert De Niro. The year 1976 was the biggest one for him, as he appeared in a series of successful movies like Taxi Driver. Besides acting, Keitel served as the co-president of the Actors Studio, beginning in 1995 until 2017. He is currently working on the 2022 movie The Legitimate Wise Guy Films.

BO DEREK


Although Fantasies was Bo Derek’s movie debut, her first film to be released was 1977’s Orca. She then beat out Kim Basinger, Melanie Griffith, and Christie Brinkley for the role of Jenny Hanley in 10, a character that earned her a Golden Globe nomination. The film was a hit with both audiences and critics, making more than $70 million at the box office. Derek also played Jane in Tarzan, the Ape Man and starred in Bolero, films that were directed by her former husband, John Derek. The couple’s final film collaboration was 1989’s Ghosts Can’t Do It.

Derek published her memoir in 2002, and recently in 2020, she made a documentary titled Bo Derek: In My Own Words. She also made investments in Bo Derek Pet Care, which sells face wash, shampoo, and conditioner for dogs. A portion of her company’s profits is donated to organizations for retired military dogs.

JEFF BRIDGES


Today, Jeff Bridges is best known for his role in The Big Lebowski, for which he has eventually become a pop culture icon. However, that is far from his only notable acting credit as he won a Best Actor award for his role in the 2009 movie Crazy Heart. He also earned many award nominations for his roles in Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, The Last Picture Show, and more. In 2010, Bridges wowed audiences with his performance in the Western movie True Grit. He also recently returned to television after a gap of 12 years for a series called The Old Man, which is set for release in 2022.

Bridges began his entertainment career as a child, thanks to his dad Lloyd, who worked steadily in movies and television throughout his childhood. His first screen appearance is in the 1951 movie The Company She Keeps when he was just two years old!

PAM GRIER


Pam Grier began her career appearing in many stage productions and participating in beauty contests to raise money for her education at Metropolitan State College. In 1967, she hired a moving company to relocate to Los Angeles, where she worked as a switchboard operator for American International Pictures. She was subsequently discovered by director Jack Hill, who cast her in The Big Doll House and its follow-up The Big Bird Cage. At this time, Grier started to become a staple of these genres of movies, in which she portrayed bold, no-nonsense women. She was then hailed as the first African-American actress to headline an action film. Even renowned Quentin Tarantino described her as the movie industry’s first-ever female action star.

Grier continues to hit the big and small screens, portraying Constance Terry in the 2019 ABC sitcom Bless This Mess.

JOHN TRAVOLTA


John Travolta started his career in the New York theater before jumping to the movie and television industry. He dropped out of high school to secure a role on Broadway in the show called Over Here! and in the traveling cast of Grease. After that, he furthered his career, appearing in Carrie, which was his first significant screen role. Of course, his notable films include Grease, Hairspray, and Pulp Fiction.

During the 1970s and early 1980s, Travolta enjoyed an immense degree of success both on and off the screen. He performed not just as an actor but also as a singer, releasing Let Her In, which topped the Billboard charts. During the 2000s, the actor also pursued new types of projects contrary to his previous traditional acting roles. He voiced the titular character in the animation Bolt and provided voice-overs for the documentary Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D.

GOLDIE HAWN


Goldie Hawn is an iconic actress who began her show business career way back in the late 1960s on the TV sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. She managed to bounce from television to a long-lasting career on the silver screen. Her interest in the entertainment world began at a young age when she appeared in a production of The Nutcracker and trained as a ballerina. Then, less than a decade later, she made her stage debut in a show of Romeo and Juliet.

Hawn never finished her college education and wasn’t able to obtain a degree, opting to launch a career as a go-go dancer, model, and actress. She worked as a ballet instructor and dancer at the New York World’s Fair in the 1960s before earning her big television break. Until now, she has been busy working in Tinseltown.

MICHAEL CAINE


English actor Michael Caine ranked as one of Hollywood’s highest-grossing box office stars. He made his acting breakthrough in the 1960s, and his career only spiraled upward, having received numerous accolades and credits. Caine started acting in school plays at 10 years old. He was reportedly an intelligent student, but he left school at 16, working briefly as a filing clerk and messenger. Four years later, he secured a job as an assistant stage manager who occasionally performed walk-on roles at the theatre.

The actor’s big break came in 1963 when he won a role in the play Next Time I’ll Sing To You. Thanks to film director Cy Endfield, Caine was cast in his film Zulu, which thrust him into the spotlight. He then played as the title character in Alfie, and over the years, he ventured into writing three memoirs, as well as knowledge and trivia books.

RAQUEL WELCH


Raquel Welch has become the ultimate female icon of the 1970s after appearing in One Million Years B.C. She has a varied acting career with parts in feature films, Broadway theater, and television films and shows. She is also given credit for breaking the mold of the blonde bombshell that reigned in 1950s Hollywood.

While the attention she received for her One Million Years B.C. character led to more roles, Welch struggled to secure her sky-high acting career throughout the late 1960s into the 1970s as her few subsequent films were box office flops. Despite her limited critical success, the actress is still lauded for ushering in a new kind of ideal leading lady. In addition to her entertainment work, she has worked as a model and spokesperson for Foster Grant sunglasses and also developed her wig business successfully. Her wig line has continued to expand today.

Jack Nicholson


Movies are ways for actors to mark their place in entertainment history. That way, even if they do retire later on, the contributions they made under the spotlight will never be forgotten.

At a young age, Jack Nicholson already dreamt of becoming an actor. His first experiences performing the art were when he trained with a theater group, a move that eventually landed him small roles for TV shows and stage productions. As great opportunities as they were for him to improve, the actor’s rise to stardom was undoubtedly a steep climb. Thankfully, he pushed through no matter what hardships came his way. Due to that, Nicholson is now often regarded as one of the best stars Hollywood has ever had. Having retired from the spotlight around 2010, the 84-year-old former actor has since been associated with his acting credit in films such as A Few Good Men, Batman, The Departed, and of course, The Shining.

KIRSTIE ALLEY


Before making her way into the entertainment industry, Kirstie Alley had already made a couple of investments as an interior designer. Throughout that period, she also had the chance to test her luck by playing in game shows, notably Password Plus and Match Game. Well, by the looks of it, these stints undoubtedly helped her transition to a career under the spotlight.

By 1982, Alley got her film debut appearing in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Her breakthrough came a few years later when she took the chance to star in the widely beloved TV sitcom Cheers. Along with the fame, her performance as Rebecca Howe also earned her a Golden Globe and an Emmy award. While it may have been just a hobby for him at the time, he eventually took the art more seriously. After finishing his studies with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama, he found his way into the theater scene.

Of course, his journey to success was anything but easy. Still, Duvall didn’t give up. Starting his career as a stage actor, he soon landed more and more roles for on-screen projects. Suffice to say, the opportunity has since launched to even higher levels of success. Now with a career spanning about seven decades, the 90-year-old filmmaker has worked on plenty of notable films and TV shows through the years. In addition, he is slated to appear in two upcoming movies.

DIANE KEATON


Even during her years in school, Diane Keaton already had quite a fascination for the performing arts, especially singing and acting. Being a member of her school’s singing and acting clubs allowed her to work on her skills by performing in the stage production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Like many of her colleagues, Keaton started her professional career as a stage actress. One of her notable performances was for the Woody Allen-produced play, Play It Again, Sam; she also starred in its subsequent film adaptation. With that said, in the world of movies, she garnered widespread recognition for her acting credit in The Godfather movies. WOODY ALLEN


By the looks of it, Woody Allen was born possessing the makings of an entertainer. While he did have a talent for sports, with his throwing hand being an asset for the baseball teams he played for, performing always had a special place in his heart. From wowing his schoolmates with his magic tricks to making a living telling jokes, it’s no wonder he eventually made his way into the entertainment industry.

Beginning his career as a stand-up comedian, Allen eventually went to the filmmaking business. Since then, he has showcased his skills behind the camera with movies such as Sleeper, Annie Hall, Zelig, Café Society. Now enjoying his 80s, the 85-year-old icon has also made investments in other endeavors, one of which is The Film Foundation. Made alongside other beloved filmmakers, this non-profit’s sole goal is to preserve and restore prints of old films.

LYNDA CARTER


If you think about it, stories are like water: they’re often adaptable from one medium to another. With that in mind, it’s no wonder a significant amount of investment money has been spent making numerous adaptations. Of course, the most notable example would be adventures from books brought to life on the screens.

With her first exposure to fame as a contestant for beauty pageants, Lynda Carter eventually garnered even more recognition for her career in front of the camera. She was the Bride of Dracula in Francis Ford Coppola’s iconic 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Malèna Scordia in the 2000 movie Malèna.

With her beauty and glamour, Bellucci also became a Bond girl, making history as the oldest Bond girl in the franchise. Now that she is in her late 50s, the actress is about to make something new in her career. She will now get credits in the West End for a one-night-only show in December 2021. Movie-wise, Bellucci will be seen as Dolores in La Befana vien di note: Le origini and as Tina Moditti in the mini TV series Radical Eye: The Life and Times of Tina Modotti.

MORGAN FREEMAN


Aside from his incredible acting talent, Morgan Freeman has made a mark in the minds of many with his distinctive deep voice. In his almost six decades in the business, the 84-year-old star has played a number of roles in an array of film genres. The degree of his fame is impalpable, and to prove this, he is a recipient of several accolades, from Academy Award to Screen Actors Guild Award to Golden Globe Award.

Freeman has also tried his luck in directing a movie in the 1993 drama Bopha! With his success, he now has a film production company called Revelations Entertainment, in collaboration with his business partner Lori McCreary. Today, he has six TV and movie projects coming, Great Escapes with Morgan Freeman, Muti, Paradise Highway, A Good Person, Sniff, and Hate To See You Go.

CHRISTIAN BALE


Nobody can deny the greatness of Christian Bale. He has been known for making a huge investment in everything he does. His versatility is indisputable with his several physical transformations in the movies he has made. Who can ever forget him as the charming yet dangerous Patrick Bateman in the 2000 remake of American Psycho? What about his performances in the psychological thriller The Machinist and, of course, in the Batman trilogy?

These films have earned Bale critical acclaim and even made it big at the box office. Now, the 47-year-old actor will be back on the big screen three years after playing the role of Ken Miles in the 2019 film Ford v Ferrari. Bale will be part of Thor: Love and Thunder with Chris Hemsworth, an untitled David O. Russell film, The Pale Blue Eye and The Church of Living Dangerously.

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH


Benedict Cumberbatch has successfully made a name for himself both on the stage and screen. Fans do not only love him for his good looks but for his great acting talent as well. In his more than 20 years in the business, he has received several major awards from the most famous award-giving bodies. Mind you, these are not the only things that the actor can boast of.

Cumberbatch also has a degree, having obtained a Master of Arts in Classical Acting. He is known for his roles in the play Frankenstein, the miniseries Sherlock, and Doctor Strange. Cumberbatch is also a voice actor. In case fans do not know, he is the voice of the Smaug and Sauron in The Hobbit movie franchise. So far, there are six projects Cumberbatch is doing today. He will be part of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The 39 Steps, Rogue Male, Rio, and Magik.

GWYNETH PALTROW


Although Gwyneth Paltrow has used her investment money in creating her own lifestyle company, Goop, she has yet to leave the entertainment world. She was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from 2008 to 2019, playing the role of Pepper Potts. She has also made a number of films in the past, like Shakespeare in Love, Shallow Hal, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, among others.

However, after officially becoming a mother to two kids, she has decided to reduce her film workload. Paltrow makes occasional film appearances but continuously received awards every now and then. She has also remained to be the face of Estée Lauder’s Pleasures perfume and authored several cookbooks. Though there is no new announcement about Paltrow’s new project, she was last seen in the TV series The Politician, which aired from 2019 to 2020, playing the role of Georgina Hobart.

KATE HUDSON


Kate Hudson proves she is more than just Goldie Hawn’s daughter. She has successfully made a name for herself in the 2000 movie Almost Famous, and from here, the rest is history. The now-42-year-old star made another success in the 2003 film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, followed by Raising Helen, The Skeleton Key, You, Me, and Dupree, and more.

With the right investment planning, Hudson co-founded the fitness brand and membership program, Fabletics, operated by JustFab. Did you know that Mads Mikkelsen used to be a gymnast and a dancer before becoming an actor? The 55-year-old actor started in the business in the Pusher film trilogy, playing the role of Tonny. He also starred in the TV series Rejseholdet. As time passed, Mikkelsen finally achieved worldwide recognition when he played the role of Casino Royale antagonist in 2006, opposite Daniel Craig.

From here, he started to make big Hollywood films, like Doctor Strange, Rogue One, Death Stranding, and more. He was also part of the Hannibal TV series, playing the lead role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter. LIAM NEESON


Liam Neeson is one of the best actors in Hollywood cinema. In fact, The Irish Times ranked him No. 7 on its Ireland’s 50 greatest film actors of 2020. Everything started when he joined the Lyric Players’ Theatre in Belfast in 1976. From here, he officially began acting in the 1981 movie Excalibur, instantly followed by five more films. However, Neeson reached international prominence for playing the lead role of Oskar Schindler in the 1993 iconic movie Schindler’s List.

From there, he started to be part of big films, like Michael Collins, Les Misérables, and star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Producers also begun to make major investments in him, starting with the movie series Taken and the Martin Scorsese religious epic Silence. Today, fans will see Neeson back in action again as they have six new projects to look forward to.

Bradley Cooper is more than just a handsome face. He has received a bunch of nominations, like eight Academy Awards and even a Tony Award. The 46-year-old actor has also won two Grammy Awards and a BAFTA Award. With the degree of his fame and great talent, he has been part of Forbes’ Celebrity 100 thrice and Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2015. With $11 million film gross worldwide, he was also one of the world’s highest-paid actors four times.

Cooper started to be recognized when he played the role of Will Tippin in Alias and as Sack Lodge in the 2005 movie Wedding Crashers. Now, he is known for the films Silver Linings Playbook, American Sniper, and, of course, A Star is Born, opposite Lady Gaga. Fans will once again see Cooper on the big screen, as he has six movies slated for release.

PAUL RUDD


The ageless Paul Rudd has been in the business since 1991, but it was not until 1995 that he made his film debut in Clueless. From here, he became a part of The Curse of Michael Myers and Rome + Juliet. Come the mid-2010s, the 52-year-old actor made it big and joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the titular role in Ant-Man. He was also part of Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers: Endgame.

Rudd also ventured into the small screen, getting credits on Friends as Mike Hannigan, Phoebe’s lover. With these to his name, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in July 2015. He even became a part of the Forbes’ Celebrity 100 in 2019. Rudd will be once again seen on the small and big screens in The Shrink Next Door and the third Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

WILLEM DAFOE


Willem Dafoe is one of the gems of Hollywood cinema, becoming the often collaborator of the famed filmmakers Paul Schrader, Julian Schnabel, Abel Ferrara, Wes Anderson, and Lars von Trier. The now 66-year-old star tries his luck in different fields of the entertainment business. Just like other stars, he is never afraid to make an investment as a producer. He, too, is a director and, of course, an actor who has made a number of Avant-Garde projects with his wife, Kate Valk.

Fans will quickly remember Susan Lucci as Erica Kane/Jane/Jane Campbell in the TV series All My Children. This makes her an iconic star, being called Daytime’s Leading Lady by TV Guide. The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times also cited her as the highest-paid actor in daytime TV. In fact, in 1991, there were rumors her salary was over $1 million a year. This would surely make her avoid any money loan.

However, being an actress is not the only thing that makes the now-74-year-old star loved by many. Lucci is also a TV host, author, and entrepreneur.
